Should you convert Everyday Rewards to Qantas?

Every 2,000 Everyday Rewards points converts automatically to 1,000 Qantas Points once you choose Qantas in the app. Whether that's a good idea comes down to one number.

The short answer

Is it worth it?

Only if you'll spend them on flights. The transfer is 2:1, so you give up $10 off your shop to get 1,000 Qantas Points. That makes the break-even 1c per Qantas Point — below that you've lost money by converting. Economy reward seats return 1c–2.6c a point, so converting for economy is worth the same to 2.6 times the money off depending on the seat you find — at the bottom of that range it's a wash. Business and premium economy return 2c–7c, worth 2 to 7 times the money off, which is the real case for converting. Qantas gift cards and the online store return only 0.4c–0.5c a point — about 40% to 50% of the money off, so converting to buy a gift card destroys value. If you're not flying, take the money off.

The maths

Where the break-even comes from

The break-even is 1c

2:1 means 2,000 points is either $10 off or 1,000 Qantas Points. Converting only wins above 1c per Qantas Point.

Business clears it easily

Premium cabins return 2c–7c a point — 2 to 7 times the money off. Hardest seats to find, but this is where converting pays.

Economy is a coin toss

1c–2.6c a point. At the top of that range you double your money; at the bottom you've done all that for nothing.

Where these numbers come from. Only some redemptions have a published rate: Flybuys and Everyday Rewards money off, Flybuys gift cards and Bank for Christmas are all 2,000 points = $10. Both airline transfers are 2:1, per each program's own help pages. Everything else — Flybuys Rewards Store products, and anything spent through Qantas or Velocity — has no fixed rate, so those ranges come from independent 2026 valuations. What you actually get depends on the item or seat you pick, and programs can change their pricing at any time. Rates checked 22 October 2026.
