Information we collect
We collect the following types of information when you use PointFarm:
- Account information — your email address and password when you create an account
- Profile preferences — your selected loyalty programs (e.g. Qantas, Velocity, Flybuys, Everyday Rewards) and display theme (light/dark mode)
- Location data — your device's approximate location, used only to show nearby fuel stations and prices. We do not store your location history.
- Usage data — basic information about how you interact with the app (e.g. which fuel types and distances you select), used to improve the product
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and personalise the PointFarm service, including showing fuel stations and offers relevant to your selected loyalty programs
- Maintain and improve your account
- Send you service-related communications (e.g. if we need to notify you of a significant change)
- Understand how people use PointFarm so we can improve it
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your information for advertising profiling.
Fuel price data
Fuel prices displayed in PointFarm are sourced from official Australian government APIs including Fair Fuel VIC, FuelCheck NSW, FuelWatch WA, SAFPIS (SA) and FuelPricesQLD. This data is publicly available and does not involve any personal information.
Affiliate links and offers
Some offers displayed in PointFarm may include affiliate links. If you click through and make a purchase, we may earn a commission. This does not affect the price you pay. We clearly display offers from affiliate partners alongside non-affiliate content and do not prioritise affiliate offers over others.
Data storage and security
Your account data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database provider with industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections and row-level security. We take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorised access, disclosure or loss.
PointFarm is an Australian product and your data is handled in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.
Third-party services
PointFarm uses the following third-party services which may process limited data:
- Supabase — authentication and database storage
- Mapbox — map display and location services
- Apple TestFlight / App Store — app distribution
Each of these services operates under their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them if you have concerns.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Withdraw consent for location access at any time through your device settings

PointFarm is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of PointFarm after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
